The Plan
Following just over two years of singledom I've decided that it's time to get back on that horse and round myself up some dates. I must admit that the thought of it is making me feel slightly queasy as in the past year I've had some dating experiences and let's just say weren't what you would call fun!
So, rather than just dip my toe in the dating scene I've decided to just jump straight in with a plan of action:
Tuesday Night = Date night
The idea is that every other Tuesday is date night, without fail on that Tuesday I must have a date, I thought that this sounded quite a simple feat - however on reflection am I really going to be able to find a date every other Tuesday with someone that I fancy? Methinks not so there may be a few random dates thrown in just to meet the target.... guy in the local shop, weird bloke on his own in bar - it really could be your unlucky day!
There are a few other rules following on from date night, everyone knows what a stress it is deciding what to wear on a first date so therefore I'm only going to do this once - The first date outfit will be the same for every date, so whatever I'm wearing on my first First Date will be worn for every other first date after that, the same will follow for second dates, third dates and so on. This will help me with not having to decide what to wear but may also proove embarrassing as obviously you would not wear the same thing to go out to a nightclub as you would to meet his parents or for a day out to the zoo, hmmm better pick my outfits wisely.
Internet Dating
Now I have dabbled here a bit in that I've had a few dates through Zoosk and Are you interested, most have turned out to be a lot shorter than I would have hoped. Now though I will be subscribing to a proper site with proper questions and answers and men with a bit more about them - well here's hoping that's what happens. In terms of internet sites I'm going to give them each 3 months and then move onto the next, this should hopefully give me a wider spread of men. I'm going to start this with Guardian Soulmates.
Speed Dating
This is a really scary one and something that I've never tried before but think definitely needs a go, how on earth do you sell yourself in 3 minutes though - will have to work on a pitch for myself ahead of this one.
Just Saying Yes
This involves just saying yes to every date that I get asked on - it could be interesting or it could be a complete disaster - either way it'll be an experience!
